Katlyn Brooks, RN joins Maningas Cosmetic Surgery as our dedicated nurse injector, and her path here is not your typical “I fell into aesthetics” story. She knew what she wanted before she even finished nursing school and spent years building deliberately toward it.
Katlyn’s Aesthetics Journey
Katlyn’s interest in aesthetics started at 18, when she got lip filler for the first time and became fascinated by what aesthetic medicine could do. From that point on, she had a goal.
She started her nursing career in Labor & Delivery, spending three years developing the clinical precision and patient care instincts that come from working in a high-stakes hospital environment. And while she was doing that, she was also saving intentionally to fund her aesthetic certification. She did not wait for the right moment to find her, she created it. Joining Maningas Cosmetic Surgery is what she describes as a full-circle moment.
What Kat Does
Katlyn specializes in dermal fillers and neurotoxins (like Botox), with a focus on facial balance and natural-looking results. Her philosophy is straightforward: injectables should enhance what you already have, not change who you are. She calls it “you, but a little bit better.”
Her favorite treatments include:
- Lip filler
- Lip and chin combinations
- Cheek enhancement
- Chin rejuvenation (her pick for the most underrated injectable area)
She is also known for one of our favorite things she says to new neurotoxin patients: “I have to date your face first.” Every patient’s muscles move differently, and she believes placement matters just as much as how many units are used. That is why she schedules two-week follow-up appointments for every new neurotoxin patient, not just to check in, but to refine results to her standard.
She Will Tell You the Truth
Katlyn is an education-first injector. She knows a lot of patients come in with ideas shaped by TikTok or before-and-after photos that do not always tell the full story. She takes the time to explain what injectables can realistically do, what they cannot, and how they fit into a bigger picture that includes skincare, consistency, and sometimes a referral to the surgical side of the practice.
When it comes to deciding between surgical options or non-surgical rejuvenation, she will say: if you are pulling your face back in the mirror, that is probably a surgical conversation. If you are looking for subtle, strategic enhancement, she is ready to build a plan with you.
