Body Cosmetic Surgery Specialist
Dr. Baker is a Four States native who grew up in Galena, Kansas, just minutes from Joplin. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pittsburg State University in 2000 before pursuing advanced research opportunities at the University of Arkansas.
He went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004 from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Dr. Baker completed his general surgery internship at Freeman Health System in Joplin before finishing his residency training in General Surgery at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio in 2009.
After residency, Dr. Baker returned to the Joplin area where he has practiced surgery at Freeman Health System for over 15 years. During that time, he served in numerous leadership roles, including Medical Staff President and Chief Medical Officer—positions that reflect his commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.
He completed an advanced Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Health Care Administration from Pittsburg State University.
