What is Hydrafacial Keravive?
Hair products, sweat, and sebum clog your pores and coat the hair follicles—causing inflammation and irritation, which may limit your natural hair growth. Using an uber-relaxing 3-step treatment, Hydrafacial Keravive cleanses, nourishes, and hydrates to balance the scalp and promote healthier, fuller-looking hair.
Step 1: Cleanse & Exfoliate. A steady stream of water and gentle suction removes dirt, oil, and impurities from the hair follicles and scalp.
Step 2: Hydrate & Nourish. Hydrafacial Keravive’s specialty serum nourishes and hydrates the hair follicles and infuses the scalp with skin proteins and biomimetic growth factors to promote healthier, thicker hair.
Step 3: Extend & Enhance. The take-home treatment spray enhances the in-office treatment and provides daily nourishment to the hair follicles and scalp.
What are Keravive treatments like?
Most patients report that Hydrafacial Keravive treatments far outshine any deep cleansing salon treatment or head massage, and they enjoy the experience just as much as they enjoy their results:
During treatment
To cleanse and exfoliate, your Hydrafacialist will guide the wand along your hairline and work in small sections throughout your scalp to remove build-up and dead skin cells and boost circulation. The gentle suction and continuous stream of water creates an invigorating sensation and primes your scalp for step 2.
Once your scalp has been deeply cleansed, the wand attachment is switched to deliver the Keravive Peptide Solution all over your scalp. This serum contains protein and growth factors that hydrate and promote hair growth.
After treatment
After your treatment is complete, your Hydrafacialist will demonstrate how and where to use the take-home Peptide Complex Spray to continue nourishing your refreshed scalp. For best results, we recommend waiting at least 6-12 hours before washing your hair after Hydrafacial Keravive treatment.
How long does a Hydrafacial Keravive scalp treatment take?
Your Hydrafacial Keravive scalp treatment will take about 30 minutes. Your hair and scalp should be dry about 15-20 minutes after treatment is complete.
How many Hydrafacial Keravive scalp treatments will I need?
We recommend treatment once a month for 3 consecutive months—with daily use of the take-home spray. Patients can continue treatments every month or every 6 months thereafter to maintain their results.
How should I prepare for my Hydrafacial Keravive appointment?
Arrive at your appointment with clean, dry hair without styling products. Most patients plan their treatment around important events, as the hair may have a slight sheen to it immediately after treatment because of the serum application.
Who should get Hydrafacial Keravive scalp treatments?
You are likely a good candidate for Hydrafacial Keravive scalp treatments if you wish to boost your scalp health and improve hair growth. We recommend delaying treatment if you are pregnant or nursing.
What can Hydrafacial Keravive help treat?
Hydrafacial Keravive scalp treatments can help treat a number of scalp issues including:
- Itching and dryness
- Flaking and irritation
- Unhealthy hair or hair loss due to hormonal, physiological, or environmental factors
Additionally, Hydrafacial Keravive scalp treatments can prepare your scalp for hair loss treatments such as Rogaine, PRP injections, hair transplant, or laser therapy.
Is Hydrafacial Keravive safe for color-treated hair?
Yes—Hydrafacial Keravive is safe for color-treated hair. The take-home spray is colorless and odorless and will not affect hair dyes.
Can I still go to an aesthetician for Hydrafacial Keravive if I have extensions?
Yes, your hydrafacialist will work between your extensions and advise you to apply the take-home spray directly on your scalp to avoid spraying your extensions.
Is Hydrafacial Keravive safe to use with oral or topical medications? What about hair loss supplements?
Yes—Hydrafacial Keravive does not interfere with any drugs, supplements, or vitamins and will help topical scalp treatments absorb more effectively.
Will Hydrafacial Keravive scalp treatment damage or remove hair?
No. Some patients may notice minimal hair shedding as non-growing (vellus/peach fuzz) hairs are uprooted, but this type of shedding indicates your scalp health is improving.
Do I need to use a special shampoo and conditioner after my scalp “facial”?
There is no special shampoo or conditioner required after Hydrafacial Keravive treatment. That said, using shampoos and conditioners with AHA/BHA or exfoliating properties will help enhance the benefits of your scalp treatment.
