Forma works by increasing collagen production below the epidermis using radiofrequency (RF) energy. To maintain gorgeous results, we recommend a series of initial treatments, plus maintenance treatments on a routine basis. To better customize your treatment, we will help you determine at what interval to return for follow-up Forma treatment when we consult with you in our office.
We can apply a numbing gel before the procedure, but it is not required and many patients find it to be a comfortable procedure without numbing. Then, we apply jelly to the treatment area, which allows us to comfortably pass the handpiece over your skin as we apply skin-tightening radiofrequency (RF) energy.
We pass the Forma handpiece over your skin repeatedly to allow the electrodes to reach below the epidermis skin. Treatment takes about 30 minutes, depending on how many areas or how large of an area you are having treated.
Your skin may be slightly irritated after treatment, appearing flushed or slightly swollen. Some patients experience a tingling sensation. Side effects only affect the treatment area, and usually subside within a few hours.

Yes, Forma is safe for all skin types. To ensure that the handpiece does not heat the skin above a safe temperature, we monitor the temperature using a screen on the handpiece throughout your treatment.
