Having full, plump lips is often considered a sign of good health, beauty and youth. Whether you were born with thin lips or your lips are thinning due to the natural aging process, there are many ways to enhance them. Lip injections using natural or synthetic fillers can keep your lips plump for months at a time. Lip implants and other surgical procedures can also be performed for a more permanent solution. Every year, thousands of people undergo successful lip enhancement and are pleased with the results.
If any of the following describe you, a surgical lip augmentation may be an option to consider: • Your lips have always been thin and disappear when you smile • As you age, your lips have become thinner and less full • You feel self-conscious about how your lips look • Having fuller lips will help balance out your face • You want a permanent fix for thin lips
LIP IMPLANTS
While traditional types of lip augmentation procedures such as injectable fillers can have their advantages, many patients would like a permanent alternative that can give their lips a fuller, natural-looking contour with a minimized risk of significant movement restriction. Silicone implants are designed to give you permanent lip enhancement with natural-looking results. The procedure is also reversible, and it does not involve periodic injections and “touch-up” sessions to keep the results going.
FAT TRANSFER
Fat transfer is another option for lip augmentation. This is a minor surgical procedure that is typically performed in conjunction with fat transfer to the rest of the face (cheeks, tear troughs, brows). Fat transfer is an excellent choice, but less popular that the synthetic filler as above.
Had a great experience. Dr. Maningas and his staff are very kind. All of my questions were clearly answered and I felt completely comfortable.
I cannot not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Maningas and his practice. Everyone is so pleasant. I could not be more happy with the care I received!
Dr. Maningas is a fine person, skilled surgeon, and enjoys helping his patients. He will be a true asset to the community and I look forward to his return to Joplin.
Not necessarily. Some patient tolerate this quite well with oral sedation and local numbing shots, while others may prefer to be put totally under. The price will vary based on which method is used.
This procedure involves two tiny little incisions at the corners of the mouth. Once healed they incisions are not noticeable.
